Originally called the Adelphean Society, Alpha Delta Pi was founded in 1851 at Wesleyan Female College — the first college in the world chartered to grant degrees to women. The founding of Alpha Delta Pi helped pave the way for women in the fraternity system. Today, Alpha Delta Pi continues to be a leader among Greek organizations, by helping to develop future female leaders.
